Owner
Richard W. “Rich” Groeber graduated from the Indiana College of Mortuary Science with an Associate’s Degree in Mortuary Science in 1974. As a student, Rich was employed at the former Moore Funeral Home in Marshall, IL. He received his Illinois license in 1977 and his Indiana license in 1983 after moving to Lafayette. He and his wife, Donna, purchased the Hahn Funeral Homes in January 2005. The name was changed to Hahn-Groeber Funeral Homes.
Rich is a member of the Independent Funeral Directors of Indiana; a member and a regional chairperson of the International Order of the Golden Rule; a board member of the 5 Points Child Safety Center and Fire Museum; St. Mary Cathedral in Lafayette; Knights of Columbus; Sons of the American Legion and Beta Phi Sigma Fraternity and the Professional Car Society.
Funeral Director’s Assistant
Joshua is a graduate of Lafayette Jefferson High School and attended Vincennes University. He has been employed as a funeral director’s assistant at Hahn-Groeber Funeral Homes since 2006. He and his wife, Rachel, have a daughter, Olivia.
Funeral Director’s Assistant
Joseph D. Bloom graduated from Indiana State University with a degree in Public Accounting. He worked at The Lafayette Life Insurance Company as an Assistant Treasurer and was active on various committees in the insurance and accounting industry on state and national levels before he retired. Joe was a good friend of the former owner of Hahn-Groeber Funeral Homes.
Joe is active in his church, St Mary Cathedral and The American Legion. He is also an officer in The Knights of Columbus; a board member of Operation Roundup Trust of Tipmont REMC and active in the community.
Greeter
Lory Nettles worked as a nurse for some years before beginning a career in media sales. She worked in radio before becoming a TV salesperson for the local CBS station. She also has experience in real estate.
Lory was first connected to Hahn-Groeber Funeral Homes when she utilized the home’s services. She was very pleased with the personal service she and her family had received. After approaching Rich Groeber about adding the position of a greeter at the funeral home, she joined the team.
Lory is a member of St Mary Cathedral Church where she is involved with the Altar/rosary Society and is an Extra Ordinary Eucharistic Minister at Masses. She also visits nursing homes and brings the Eucharist to hospital patients.
