Local Grief Support

Grieving with Great Hope / Living with Great Hope

You are grieving the death of a loved one or friend. That death may have occurred recently or in the past. The Bereavement Ministry of St. Mary Cathedral and St. Ann’s Church pastorate offers two companioning programs to walk with you in this grief journey. We understand that grieving is an individual experience, different for each of us, dependent upon many factors in our relationship with our deceased loved one. You may feel like you are alone in your grief. You are not. Ministry members are companions with you on this journey. We are not counselors or magicians. We cannot magically make grief disappear.

The first program, Grieving with Great Hope, is a five-session workshop incorporating video references and social interactions during each session. The second, Living with Great Hope, is a schedule of three meetings offering some thoughtful suggestions and social interactions.

Each program is offered twice per year: the Spring scheduled workshop is on Saturday mornings in February at St. Ann’s Church and the Fall scheduled workshop is on August evenings at St. Mary Cathedral. The monthly meetings are scheduled in the three months following each workshop at the respective locations. Workshop attendance is not required for the monthly sessions. Anyone who is grieving the death of a loved one is invited and encouraged to attend.

Please let us join you on your journey. For additional information, please contact the Pastorate office at (765) 742-4440
