Obituary

Stephen D. McLean, 74, of Lafayette, IN passed away at Creasy Springs Health Campus Thursday November 10, 2022 at 9:42 AM. He was born in Danville, IL February 20, 1948 the son of the late Chester and Ovetta Fauniel Smith McLean and was a graduate of Covington, IN High School. Following high school, he enlisted in the U. S. Airforce, where he served from 1967 until 1970 as a fireman. After the military, he served as a fireman for the Indianapolis Fire Department at the Indianapolis Airport, and worked part time as a barber. He later was employed for Fed EX, and then spent 20 years at ALCOA in Lafayette. Stephen was a former member of the Covington, IN Masonic Lodge and enjoyed playing golf. He married Linda R. Castleberry at Covington, IN May 21, 1967 and she survives. Surviving with his wife Linda are two daughters, Care McLean-Rolfes (Rob) and Michelle McLean, both of Lafayette. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Grayson McLean and Reese McLean-Rolfes. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
