Lucinda Neubauer

Lucinda Doral Neubauer, 89, of Lafayette, passed away at Franciscan St. Elizabeth East Hospital in Lafayette 7:50 PM Monday Jan. 3, 2022. She was born in Lafayette December 23, 1932, the daughter of the late Wilbur and Georgia (Conn) Hornbeck and was a 1951 graduate of Lafayette Jefferson High School. She married Bernard Neubauer in Lafayette March 8, 1952 and he preceded her in death September 4, 2009. Mrs. Neubauer had been employed at Purdue University; St. Elizabeth Hospital as a receptionist in the x-ray department and for Payless Food Stores. She served as a bus attendant for special needs children, was a volunteer for Caregiver Companion and was a member of St. Mary’s Cathedral. Surviving are three daughters, Terri Lester (Tom Stillions) of Lafayette; Sanda Neubauer of West Lafayette; Cathy Rooze (Mike) of Attica and by a son, Bryon Neubauer (Barbara) of Lafayette. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, William Hornbeck and a sister Deliah Buck. A Celebration of Lucinda’s Life will be held at the Bradford Place Clubhouse, 3224 South 9th St., Lafayette, 47909 from 1 to 4 PM Saturday January 8. Her remains will be interred in St. Mary’s Cemetery in the spring of 2022. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society or St. Mary’s Cemetery.
