The family of James Wall Gordon, Jr. (b. 11/24/1943) wishes to announce his triumphant return to eternal glory on 12/19/2020. James was the eldest son of James W. and Emma Gordon (parents deceased), loving brother to Edmund Rodgers (deceased), Richard Gordon, and Deborah Gordon Paladino. He passed under the care of his best friend and wife of 54 years, Virginia Gordon (nee Irvin), married 8/20/1966. Beloved father to Marybeth Gordon Fabian and Francine Gordon Curcio, father-in-law to John C. Fabian and Gaetano Curcio, James leaves a legacy of adoring grandchildren: Sophia Mary Fabian, Gabriella Helen Fabian, John William Fabian, Holland Abigail Hemmings-Curcio, and Francesco James Irvin Curcio. James graduated from West High School and earned a B.S. in business administration from Fenn College (now Cleveland State University). His career spanned 40 years, and he was variously employed in the telecommunications industry with Western Electric, AT&T, and Lucent Technologies. An award winning salesman, James was always an asset to his employers. In his private life, James was just as dedicated: he coached both girls’ basketball at St. Patrick’s, W.P. in Cleveland, and softball teams at Magnificat High School in Rocky River, OH, rec leagues in Nashville, TN, and Bishop Snyder High School in Jacksonville, FL. Known for his kindness and humor, James will be dearly missed and celebrated by his family and friends. The family will announce a memorial celebration to be held in Cleveland, OH at a later date when people are at liberty to travel.
