Francis D'Alfonso

Francis J. D’Alfonso, Sr., 89 of Lafayette, IN and formerly of the Pottsville, PA area, passed away Thursday Nov. 1, 2018 at Mulberry Health and Retirement Center, Mulberry, IN where he had been a resident the past two years. Francis was born in Pottsville, PA May 24, 1929, the son of the late Noe L. and Gaeteana (Albanese) D’Alfonso. He married Helen Louise Sborz at Minersville, PA Sept. 8, 1951 and she preceded him in death in 2006. He was a veteran of the US Army during World War II, and was employed by ALCOA for 43 years, retiring in 1991. Surviving are two daughters, Francine D. Breckler (husband Victor) of Brownsburg, IN; Ann Marie Percala of Lafayette, IN; and a son, Francis J. D’Alfonso (wife Shelene) of Lafayette, IN along with six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Elaine D’Alfonso , one brother and three sisters. Private family services and interment will be held at the Annville National Cemetery in Indiantown Gap, PA.
