William Joseph Lavezzi

William Joseph Lavezzi 89, of Lafayette, passed away at IU Arnett Hospital in Lafayette Wednesday April 23, 2025 at 10:20 PM. William was born in Chicago, IL July 26, 1935, the son of the late Douglas V. and Florence P. (Heck) Lavezzi and graduated high school and attended college in Illinois. He married Caryl B. Ludlum in Morris, IL June 22, 1963 and she survives. William served in the U.S. Army from 1958 until 1960. He was a journeyman plumber with Lavezzi Plumbing for over 30 years before his retirement. William was a member of Friends in Christ Lutheran Church in Morris, IL and Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sumpter, SC. Surviving with his wife is a daughter, Ellen Lavezzi of Battle Ground, IN and a son, Bryan Lavezzi (Karen) of Knoxville, TN; a brother, Douglas Lavezzi (Lauren) of New Lenox, IL and a sister, Dorothy Rys of Rockdale, IL. Also surviving is a grandson, Jacob William Lavezzi and a great-grandson, Emmett Lavezzi. He was preceded in death by a brother, John Lavezzi and a sister, Florence Bisping. Military Rites by the U.S. Army will be held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery at Elwood, IL Monday May 12 at 12:30 CDT, with inurnment to follow in the cemetery columbarium.  Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home of Lafayette is caring for the Lavezzi family.
