William Bollock

William Francis (Bill) Bollock, 76, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, July 19, at St. Elizabeth East in Lafayette. He was born on March 13, 1938 in Lafayette to the late Alfred A. and Luella Anthrop Bollock in Lafayette. He walked to St. Mary Grade School every day with his four older brothers and sisters. They adored his happy and mischievous personality.

Bill graduated in 1956 from Jefferson High School. His friendships there would last throughout his life and were very important to him. He attended Purdue University. He was a Prudential agent for 20 years and then became an independent small group health insurance specialist. Eventually he changed direction and opened Bollock Property Management, buying, rehabbing and renting properties. Always active, on his last day he was working on his most recent acquisition, a house on Concord Road.

In 1960 he married Vicky Heath and together they had three children, Kimberly, Jennifer and Dan (Sarah). His six grandchildren are Rachael, Jake, Dillon, Delaney, Maggie and Abby. He was a wonderful dad and grandfather, so involved in his kid's lives, treating each one as special and always available to them. Bill and Vicky were married for 54 years. Bill is survived by his sister, Loretta Evans (George), his brother, Ron (Kathy), and nine nieces and nephews. A sister, Mary Jo, and a brother, Al (Tony), preceded him in death.

He loved people and could always brighten your day with funny comments, a positive outlook or an offer of helpful encouragement. He found his vintage Lincoln Continental convertible through a J&C classified ad, restored it, and loved to drive his family and friends around town. He located a 1960 38'wooden boat in Minneapolis and with 3 friends, brought it down the Mississippi into Lake Michigan, where he docked it for many years. Many happy family memories were made in and around Lake Michigan.

Visitation will be from 10 AM to 12 PM, Saturday, July 26, at Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home, 1104 Columbia Street, Lafayette. The funeral service will follow with Rev. Tom Camp officiating. Burial with be at Pretty Prairie Cemetery, Tyler Road, near Battleground. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Bill's name to Habitat for Humanity of Lafayette.
