Vivian Shepherd

Vivian L. Shepherd, 90, of Lafayette, died at St. Mary's Healthcare Center in Lafayette 10:05 PM Thursday July 29, 2010 where she had been a patient the past 2 years. Velma was born at Alamo, Indiana September 20, 1919, the daughter of the late Charles and Flossie Bowman Fruits. She had resided in Tippecanoe County since 1940, moving here from Hillsboro, IN. where she was a graduate of Hillsboro High School. Velma married Glenn Shepherd in Lafayette November 5, 1949, and he preceded her in death January 20, 1982. She retired from Duncan Electric, where she had worked as a clerical assistant. Velma was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church, and a former member of the Eagles Ladies Auxiliary. Surviving is a step-son, Michael Shepherd and a step-daughter, Glenda Lutz, both of Madisonville, KY. Friends may call at the HAHN-GROEBER FUNERAL HOME, 1104 Columbia St. from 10:00 AM until the service at 11:00 AM Tuesday, Rev. Mike Vauters officiating.
