VELMA R PEARSON, 87
Velma R Pearson, 87, of Monticello, died Saturday June 28, 2008, at Home Hospital after suffering a stroke.
A former resident of Rossville and Lafayette she was born in Lafayette on April 4, 1921, the daughter of the late Verner and Vada Jordan Jackson. She graduated from Jefferson High School. She worked for JC Penney Co., down town and worked for Hooks Drugs until her retirement.
Her marriage was to Cecil R Pearson on Aug 26, 1939 in Terre Haute. He preceded her in death on Oct 13, 1987.
She enjoyed travel, playing cards, shopping and helping others.
Surviving are a daughter, Judith Ludberg (Husband: Larry) of Rossville, a son, Dwight Pearson of Monticello, and a brother, Irving
__ Jackson of Lafayette.
Also surviving are: Grandchildren; Craig Ludberg (wife: Cheryl) of Lafayette, Christina Wissel (husband: Mark) of Fort Wayne, Dianna Hitze (husband: Dave) of Lafayette, Monica Turner (husband: Rob) of Missouri, and Jessica Pearson of Monticello.
Great-grandchildren; Brittany Tyrie, Colin and Kasey Ludberg and Lydia Hitze, all of Lafayette, and Kennedy and Cameron Wissel of Fort Wavne.

Two special Great-great-granddaughters, Jaidyn and Madison Tyrie.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Janet Ray Pearson; two brothers, Lawrence and Harold Jackson and two sisters, Fern Bowen and Mildred Painter.
