Thelma M. Williams, 103, of Oxford, IN. went home to her Lord and Savior Sunday November 11, 2012 at 3:35 PM at Heritage Healthcare Center in West Lafayete. Thelma was born in Portageville, MO. March 21, 1909, the daughter of the late Norval and Lora Lee Ward Nicholas. She was a 1927 graduate of Sikeston, MO. High School, and had resided in Benton County, IN. since 1940. Thelma married Irvin "Red" Williams at Sikeston, MO. in 1930, and he preceded her in death in 1988. Thelma was a homemaker and was very involved in the family farm. She had worked for a shoe manufacturer while residing in Missouri and had later worked at Stans Variety Store in Oxford. Mrs. Williams was a member of the Oxford Church of Christ and the Pine Township Home Ec Club. Her foremost love in her life was her family, neighbors and friends, her church, her garden and her flowers. Surviving are 3 daughters, Thelma (husband Robert) Glaspie and Donna (husband John) Cox, both of Oxford, IN.; Patricia ( John) Millington or Charlotte, NC.; 9 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 2 grandchildren, Kathlene Millington and C.J. Cox, a brother, Clyde Nicholas and a foster sister, Rosemary Ward Oliver. Friends may call from 9:30 until the service at 10:30 AM Friday at the Oxford Church of Christ, Mr. Larry McMillan officiating, with interment to follow at Mt. Gilboa Cemetery near Fowler.
