Thelma F. Crabtree, 96, of Brownsburg, IN and formerly of Crawfordsville, IN died at Brownsburg Meadows Healthcare in Brownsburg, IN Wednesday August 10, 2016 where she had been a patient since January. Thelma was born in Advance, IN September 27, 1919 the daughter of the late Ernest L. and Inez P. Coons Delano and was a 1937 graduate of New Market, IN High School. She first married Robert W. Rice at Crawfordsville, IN February 24, 1940 and he preceded her in death March 24, 1981. Thelma later married Roy R. Crabtree at Linden, IN May 26, 1990 and he died December 4, 1996. She had been employed as a proof-reader at R.R. Donnelly for 32 years, retiring in 1972. Thelma was a member of Fremont Street Baptist Church in Crawfordsville, IN. Surviving is a daughter, Beth (Herschel) Tague of Brownsburg, IN; two brothers, Albert Delano of Avon, IN and Loyal Delano (wife Patsy) of New Market, IN; and by a sister Lola “Sissy” Shermer (Lefty) of Crawfordsville, IN. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Larry W. Rice; three sisters, Kate Neff, Doris McGlothlin and Annabelle Roe and by five brothers, Paul, Robert, John, Daymond and Jesse Delano. Friends may call at the Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home, Linden, IN from 10:00 AM until the funeral at 12:00 PM Saturday, Pastors Dan Aldrich and Jeff Tague officiating. The interment will follow at Linden Cemetery. If friends desire, memorials may be made to Fremont Street Baptist Church in Crawfordsville.
