Teresa Lynn Shelley

Teresa Lynn Shelley, 63, of State Line City, IN passed away on June 15, 2025, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and love. She was born in Danville, IL on Aug. 25, 1961, the daughter of Robert O. & Marilyn K. (Green) Gooch.

Teresa was a graduate of Danville High School, class of 1979. Following highschool, she worked at Eisner Grocery Store before transitioning into the role of a homemaker, where she spent the later years of her life nurturing her family and caring for those around her.

Widely known for her caring nature, Teresa had a profound love for all forms of life—she was indeed a devoted animal lover, almost like a modern-day Snow White, providing warmth to her household and beyond. Many would know about her vast collection of Scooby Doo memorabilia. Her vibrant personality shone through her joyful demeanor, and she was well-known for her sense of humor and goodness of heart. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Teresa is survived by her husband of 24 years, Keith "Harley" Shelley; her mother, Marilyn K. Gooch; her step-son, Elisha Shelley; her brother-in-law, Steve Shelley; her sister-in-law, Jackie Holt (Jerry); cousins, Gerald Green (Pat), Kathy Woodrum, Cheryl McCorkle (Mike), Tim Green (Rhonda), Jeff Green (Jaymie); lastly her special dog, Scooby, whom she adored. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert O. Gooch, and her grandparents, Omar and Stelsa (Barton) Green.

Visitation will be held on June 21, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM EST. Both services will take place at Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home 321 South Street, Linden, Indiana. Those desiring may contribute in memory of Teresa to the Vermilion County Animal Shelter.
