Steven Hatke

Steven Alan Hatke, 53, of Lafayette, died in his Lafayette residence Tuesday July 1, 2008. He was born in Lafayette January 24, 1955, the son of Stanley V. and Rosemary Snider Hatke, who survive. Mr. Hatke was a 1974 graduate of Northe Montgomery High School, and as a youth was active in the Montgomery County 4 H program. He was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Crawfordsville, and American Legion Post 11 in Lafayette. Mr. Hatke served in the U.S. Army from 1974 until 1976, and had worked at General Foods in Lafayette from 1976 until it closed. He most recently was employed at the BP on St. Road 26 as a clerk. Surviving with his parents are 2 brothers, Ronald J. Hatke (wife Teresa) of Waynetown, IN.; Michael D. Hatke (wife Rita) of Lebanon, IN.; and 6 sisters Sharon Harlan of Indianapolis, IN.; Diana Simpson of Lafayette, IN.; Barbara Carrell (husband Dennis) of Lebanon, IN.; Madonna Baily (husband Jim) of Murphysboro, TN,; Roseann Ryle (husband Dave) of Sugarland, Texas and Carla Truax (husband Gary) of New Richmond, IN. Friends may call one hour prior to the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Crawfordsville at 11:00 A.M. Monday, Fr. Dave Hellman officiating. Inurnment to follow at Calvary Cemetery. Also surviving are 6 nieces and 3 nephews. If friends desire, memorials may be made to the Gibault School, P.O.
