Ruth Ann Brown

Ruth Ann Brown, 76, of Lafayette died May 16, 2025 at Wesley Manor in Frankfort. Born on February 15, 1949 in Lafayette, Indiana, daughter of the late Isabell Batta Winter who died on February 11 of 1970. Ruth Ann married F. Robert “Bob” Brown on August 9, 1969 in Lafayette. He preceded her in death on June 26, 2023.

Ruth Ann earned her nursing degree from Purdue University. She began her nursing career at Home Hospital before joining IU Arnett, where she specialized in Cardiology. She then retired from Employee Health Services; however, her passion for nursing led her to work at Unity Healthcare, focusing on the GI specialty.

Her deep love for family was a guiding force in her life. When it came time to retire, Ruth Ann chose to do so in order to care for her great-grandchild, who required special medical treatment. This selflessness exemplified her strong and loving nature, as caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her immeasurable joy. Ruth Ann was not only a devoted nurse and family member but also an active member of Grace United Methodist Church in Lafayette. Ruth Ann was a breast cancer survivor, a testament to her strength and resilience.

Surviving are her two sons, Robert Edward Brown (Rose) of Lafayette and Scott Alan Brown of Alexandria, VA. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Devareaux Brown (Andrew Archer) of Mulberry and Kimberly Charles (Cody) of Fort Leonard Wood, MO and four great-grandchildren, Emma & Avery Archer, Maximus & Myra Charles.
