Russell Tarter

Russell W. Tarter, 66, of Lafayette, died in the emergency room of St. Elizabeth East 1:31 PM Monday April 28, 2014. Russell was born in Lafayette, IN. May 19, 1947, the son of Wilbur M. and Jessie J. Prather Tarter, and was a graduate of Lafayette Jefferson High School. He served in the Indiana National Guard for eight years, and was a member of the American Legion Post at Boswell, IN. Russell was an entrepreneur and real estate developer. Surviving are his parents of Lafayette; a special friend, Janice Anderson as well as the Anderson family, who were longtime friends. Friends may call at the Church of Jesus Christ, Later Day Saints, 3224 Jasper St. West Lafayette from Noon until the service at 1:00 PM Friday, Bishops Paul Cramer and Ron Ritchey officiating, with interment to follow in Tippecanoe Memory Gardens, West Lafayette.
