Roy Buras Mermoud, 95, of Oxford, IN died at Green Hill Manor in Fowler, IN Monday March 23, 2015 at 4:08 AM where he had been a patient for the past six days. Roy was born in Hopkins Park, IL May 3, 1919, the son of the late Eugene and Laura Buras Mermoud. He was a graduate of Oxford High School and was a World War II veteran, serving in the US Army. Mr. Mermoud was employed at ALCOA for forty years, retiring in 1977, and was a member of the Oxford Church of Christ. He married Wilma Evelyn Fellure at Atkinson, IN June 9, 1938, and she preceded him in death January 2, 2001. Surviving is a daughter, Barbara Martinez (husband Manuel) of Madison, WI; three sons, Roy W. Mermoud (wife Paulette) of Richmond, IN; Robert A. Mermoud (wife Anita) of Loogootee, IN; and John W. Mermoud (wife Amy) of Oxford, IN. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister Cecelia Crane and by two brothers, John and Steve Mermoud. Friends may call at the Oxford Church of Christ from 5 to 7 PM Wednesday, with the funeral service at the church 10:30 AM Thursday, Larry McMillan officiating.
