Roslynn A. Bol, 78, of Shadeland, IN passed away at IU Arnett Hospital in Lafayette Saturday March 14, 2026. She was born in Huntington, IN on January 27, 1948, the daughter of the late Harold & Edythe Matney. Roslynn married Richard A. Bol in Central Presbyterian Church in Lafayette August 2, 1969, and he preceded her in death on November 29, 2021.
A 1966 graduate of Southwestern High School, Roslynn pursued further education at Indiana State University for two years. From 1990 to 2014, she served as a secretary in the Counseling and Education department at Purdue University, where her professionalism and gentle nature left a lasting impression on colleagues and students alike. She loved attending car shows and cherished camping trips to New Buffalo, Michigan, and Turkey Run, moments where her laughter and quirky, funny nature shone most brightly. Roslynn’s faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she was a devoted member of the Central Presbyterian Church for decades.
Her proudest accomplishments were her beloved family. She is remembered with profound love by her sons, Benjamin H. Bol, with his wife Kelly, and Richard Allen Bol II. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Austin and Jonathan Hartz, and her great-grandchildren, Theo and Oliver Hartz. These precious bonds were a source of immense pride and joy for Roslynn throughout her life.
While Roslynn is deeply mourned by her surviving family, she reunites with those who preceded her in passing: her parents, her husband Richard A. Bol, and her brother Frederick Matney.
