Ronald William “Roonie” Eubank Jr., 66, of West Lafayette, was reunited with his Lord and Savior on May 31, 2026. Born on March 21, 1960, in Memphis, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Ronald William Eubank Sr. and Mary Jane Eubank.
While Ron called West Lafayette home for the past 20 years, Virginia Beach, Virginia always held a special place in his heart. Having lived there for 41 years, he knew the city like the back of his hand and proudly shared stories about its neighborhoods, landmarks, and people. Virginia Beach was more than a hometown to Ron—it was part of who he was.
On September 15, 2001, Ron married Lori Eubank. Together they shared many years of marriage, companionship, and memories.
Ron was a natural storyteller who enjoyed talking with people and sharing memories from his life. Once you got him going on a story, you'd better be prepared to sit down and talk awhile, because he'd give you an ear full. He loved sharing memories from his years as a salesman for Coca-Cola, where he worked for ten years, and later Pepsi, where he spent five years. He also had countless stories from his twenty years as a DJ at Sneaky Pete’s in Virginia Beach, where many knew him by the nickname “Crazy Ron.” Whether telling stories about work, old friends, or life in Virginia Beach, he always knew how to make people laugh.
A devoted football fan, Ron could be found watching just about any football game that appeared on television. College football, NFL games, reruns of old matchups—it did not matter. He was a lifelong supporter of the Washington Redskins and proudly wore Redskins shirts, jackets, and hats whenever he could. He never cared much for the team's name change and remained fiercely loyal to the franchise throughout his life. In recent years, he also became a fan of the Kansas City Chiefs.
Ron was equally passionate about movies, television, and music. He loved classic westerns, especially those starring John Wayne. He was a devoted fan of MAS*H and likely watched the entire series more times than anyone could count, yet still laughed at every episode as if it were his first time seeing it. Music brought him tremendous joy, and he enjoyed singing and dancing to songs by The Eagles, Journey, Foreigner, Michael Jackson, Queen, Milli Vanilli, and many others. One of his happiest discoveries was learning that his flat-screen television could play Michael Jackson videos whenever he wanted.
Most importantly, Ron was a man of faith. He strived each day to grow closer to God and was never shy about sharing his love for the Lord with others. He faithfully watched the sermons of Pastor Charles Stanley and looked forward to hearing his messages on TV each Sunday. His faith guided him throughout his life and remained a source of strength and comfort.
Ron also treasured the companionship of his beloved dog, Pablo, and cat, Stormy. Though they often competed for a place on his lap, they were his faithful buddies and brought him endless joy.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lori Eubank; his daughter, Erica Eubank; his beloved granddaughter, Lily Eubank, whom he helped raise and loved as a daughter; his stepsons, Ricky Tatlock and Nicholas Tatlock (Chantel); grandchildren Peyton Brooks, Trey Tatlock, Miles Tatlock, and Thatcher Tatlock; sisters Mary Eubank and Kathy Jackson; and his lifelong friend Danny Paternite. Ron and Danny shared a friendship of 53 years, having grown up together and remained close throughout their lives.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald William Eubank Sr.; his mother, Mary Jane Eubank; and his brother, Kenny Eubank.
Ron’s greatest joy was his family, and he was especially proud of Lily and all she has accomplished. His stories, laughter, faith, music, and unwavering love for family and friends will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Services will be held at a later date through Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home.
