Robert Scott

Bob Scott, 66, of Lafayette, died Sunday, Feb. 22, 2015, at IU Arnett Hospital.
He was born on June 12, 1948, in St. Louis, Mo., the son of the late Robert L. and Marcella (Betz) Scott of Overland, Mo. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Richard.
Mr. Scott was a 1966 graduate of Ritenour High School, in Overland, Mo., and a 1970 graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism. He married Terri Stevenson in Bloomington, In., on Feb. 17, 1973, and she survives. Bob was a reporter at the Journal & Courier for more than 38 years and a parishioner of the Cathedral of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception.
Also surviving are his two sons, Andrew Scott (Victoria Barrett) of Indianapolis, and Steven Scott (Karen Mitchell) of West Lafayette; two grandchildren, Dahlia Scott, West Lafayette, and Finn Scott, Indianapolis; four brothers, Ronald Scott (Joan) of South Dakota, Roger Scott (Barbara) of Olivette, Mo., Ray Scott and Randy Scott, both of Overland, Mo.; four sisters, Marcia Bax of Overland, Mo., Marti Gore of St. Peters, Mo., Margie Ess (Kevin) of St. Charles, Mo., and Mary Killmade (Tom) of Labadie, Mo.; and many nieces and nephews.
Bob was known for his inquisitive nature, kindness, and infectious smile. He enjoyed spending time with his family, volunteering for several organizations, and cheering on his beloved St. Louis Cardinals.
Friends may call at the Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home, 1104 Columbia St., Lafayette from 4 until 7 PM Friday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Cathedral of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception 10:30 AM Saturday, Fr. Ambrose Ziegler officiating, with the interment to follow at St. Mary Cemetery.
