Richard Mcintyre

Richard L. "Dick" McIntyre, 66, of Lafayette, died at Clarian-Arnett Hospital 2:25 Am Wednesday October 14, 2009 where he had been a patient the past 5 days. He had been in ill health the past 18 months with cancer. Mr. McIntyre was born October 19, 1942 in Lafayette, the son of the late Lloyd and Lilian Lawler McIntyre. He was a graduate of Laurimie Township High School at Stockwell, and attended technical school in Indianapolis. He married Jerilynn A. Bumbleburg in Lafayette April 24, 1965 and she survives. Mr. McIntyre was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church; the Knights of Columbus, 3rd Degree; and the Moose Lodge. He bowled for many years in leagues at Star Lanes; enjoyed playing pool; was a member of the Dart League at the Moose Lodge, and in his younger years, raced Corvair's. He had worked at Purdue University as a reference librarian for 32 years before retiring in 2003. Surviving beside his wife is a daughter, Martina M. Dickman of Indianapolis, and a sister, Beckie Cox (husband David) of Rossville, IN. Also surviving is a grandson, Demaree Lee Allen. Friends may call at the HAHN-GROEBER FUNERAL HOME, 1104 Columbia St., Lafayette from 9:30 until 10:30 AM Friday. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 AM Friday, St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Fr. Dennis Faker officiating. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery. If friends desire, memorials may be made to St. Lawrence Catholic Church or the American Cancer Society.
