Reynolds Weber

Reynolds G. "Ren" Weber, 83, of Lafayette, died at St. Anthony's Healthcare Center 3:45 P.M. Wednesday June 18, 2008. He born in Grand Rapids, Michigan October 18, 1924, the son of the late Reynolds M. and Deva R. Ruynon Weber, and was a graduate of Catholic Central High School in Grand Rapids. Mr. Weber worked for the Lafayette Journal and Courier in the advertising department many years, retiring in 1982. He previously had worked for the Grand Rapids Herald. On August 17, 1946, he married Helen M. Oleneack at Grand Rapids, Michigan, and she preceded him September 9, 1995. Mr. Weber was a veteran of the Navy, WW II; a member of St. Mary's Cathedral; Knights of Columbus; American Legion Post 11; VFW Post 1154; the 40 & 8 Voiture 364 the Indiana Association of Newspaper Advertising Executives; and was an avid card player at the American Legion in Lafayette. Surviving are 2 daughters, Mary Randolph (husband Fred) of Macomb, IL.; Kathleen Bushong (husband Darin) of Bradenton, FL.; 7 sons, Michael J. Weber (wife Ruth) of Ecuador; Reynolds P. Weber of Lafayette, IN.; Joseph J. Weber (wife Kathy) of Evansville, IN.; Raymond J. Weber (wife Rosemary) of Brazil, IN.; Thomas P. Weber (wife Dee) of West Bend, WI.; Timothy M. Weber (wife Beth) of Rockford, MI.; Anthony B. Weber (wife Betsy) of Lafayette, IN.; a brother, Ronald Weber of Grand Rapids, MI.; a sister Barbara Jakubowski of Grand Rapids, MI.; and his long time companion, Linda Fields of Lafayette. Friends may call at the HAHN-GROEBER FUNERAL HOME, 1104 Columbia St., Lafayette from 5 until 7 P.M. today, Friday. Mass of Christian Burial 9:00 A.M. Saturday, St. Mary's Cathedral, Fr. Bob Klemme officiating. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery with American Legion Post 11 graveside rites. Also surviving are 25 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
