Rev. John Wolf

Rev. John J. Wolf, 74, of Lafayette, died at St. Elizabeth Central Hospital in Lafayette 3:14 PM Friday December 3, 2010 where he had been a patient for the past 9 days. He had been in failing health the past 3 years. Rev. Wolf was born in New York, New York July 21, 1936, and graduated from high school in Queens, New York City. He received his Bachelor's of arts in Bible and psychology and his Master's in Religious Education, both from Tennessee Temple College in Chattanooga, TN. Rev. Wolf served as a pastor in Illinois, Florida, Kentucky, Tennessee, Texas, and Indiana, and also served with the Ray Sadler Evangelistic Team for a number of years. From 1954 until 1958, he served in the U.S. Navy. Rev. Wolf married Elizabeth A. Kennedy in Riverside, Florida June 11, 1960, and she survives. He was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Lafayette. Surviving beside his wife is a daughter, Lynn Ellen Wolf of Lafayette, IN.; a son, Frank S. Wolf (wife April) of Lafayette, IN.; and a sister Wynn Progar of Carol Stream, IL. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren, Elizabeth F., Katherine A., Joshua D., and Dorothea Lynn Wolf. A memorial service will be held at Cornerstone Baptist Church 6:00 P.M. Wednesday, Rev. Mike Vauters officiating.
