Onnie Cosby

Onnie Dexter Cosby, 78, of West Point, IN died at IU Arnett Hospital 12:17 PM Friday December 18, 2015 where he had been a patient for the past two days. Mr. Cosby was born in Tazewell, TN April 12, 1937, the son of the late Millard and Birdie Louise Sulfridge Cosby, and was a graduate of Klondike High School. He married Janet M. Harshman in Lafayette August 23, 1959, and she survives. Onnie was a member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Union Local 157 of Terre Haute and enjoyed fishing and outdoor living. Surviving with his wife is a son, Dennis D. Cosby of West Point, IN; three daughters, Tilina A. Thomason of Florida; Sherri L. Ungersma and Dorothy A. Moore, both of Lafayette, IN; a brother, Donald Cosby (Janet) of Pennsylvania and a sister, Irene Dienhart of West Lafayette, IN. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Friends may call at the Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home, 1104 Columbia St., Lafayette one hour prior to the memorial service at 1:00 PM Tuesday Dec. 22, Pastor Robert Bradford officiating.
