Nycha Senesac

Nycha Senesac, 73, of Oxford, Indiana passed away on February 23, 2017. The funeral service will be held at Oxford United Methodist Church with Pastor Linda Sproull officiating. Visitation will be held from 3:00-5:00 on Thursday March 2 with services following at 5:00 PM. Nycha was born in Lafayette on August 2, 1943 to Rollin and Edna (Fell) Hay. She attended Oxford High School. Nycha married to Wayne Senesac in 1959. Nycha’s younger years were spent in Oxford where she was very much the tomboy with cowboy chaps and a BB gun. She later blossomed into a beautiful young lady and was crowned Benton County’s 1959 Fair Queen. Nycha spent much of her young adult years, raising her four children. When she wasn’t on the side lines cheering her children on, she was working her business, Draperies on Wheels. Nycha was a pioneer in the drapery and window covering industry, by establishing one of the first true shop at home service from her GMC motor home. Nycha was very athletic and competitive. She could drive a golf ball farther than most, and has her name in the record book for a Hole in One at the Oak Grove Country Club in Oxford. In her later years, Nycha enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends entertaining them with her witty humor and storytelling. Nycha is survived by 2 sisters, Nancy Cordes, and Barbara Atha, 4 children, Son: Polet Senesac, wife Patty, sons, Jonathan and Parker; Daughter: Polly Garrison, children, Isabelle and Gilbert; Son: Price Senesac, wife Reva, sons, James Camp and Preston; Daughter: Penny Cooper, husband Doug, children, Austin and Andrew Paxton, Mike and Jaide Cooper. Nycha is preceded in death by, three brothers: Rollin, John, Daniel, and two sisters: Gwendolyn Ladd and Rose Edmunds. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Oxford Public Library.
