Her story starts with the marriage of John Hass to Deloris Taylor. She arrived on August 25th, 1929 in Greensburg, Indiana. The tiny family soon moved to Madison, Indiana, and she found she soon had 3 sisters and a baby brother. Her working career started in high school at Ingles Rogers Drug Store. As stock help and clerk she filled in at the lunch counter where a persistent patron, William Henry, convinced her to be his bride in 1946. Robert arrived in 1950 followed by Margaret in 1953 and Gregory in 1954. The marriage ended in divorce in 1965. Working two jobs to raise three children filled her life until all had left the nest. She transferred to Plymouth, Indiana, with Indiana Bell Engineering and a co-worker was insistent she meet her brother. This culminated in a wedding to Truman Luke in July of 1973.Crowned Mrs. Senior Kentucky in 1995. She returned to her education in 2001 at Western Kentucky University to receive an Associate Degree in Humanities and a Bachelors degree in Behavioral Science. She was a recipient of Jefferson Award for outstanding community Service in 2003. There are hundreds of lives touched by Norma's numerous contributions. In 2005 she lost Truman after 32 years of marriage. With all family members mentioned above proceeding her in death, with one exception, her eldest son, Robert. She passed quietly in her sleep on March 13th, 2026. She left a legacy of 7 grandkids, nieces, nephews and a heard of great-grand kids. A long and fruitful life was brought to a close.
