Norma Louise Aschenberg

Norma Louise Aschenberg passed away early Saturday morning at Creasy Springs Health Campus November 4^th. Norma was born the youngest of seven children to Jesse Ray Moss and Nina Kerby Moss March 23, 1930, on the family farm in Howard County Indiana. She married the love of her life John Francis Aschenberg on May 17^th, 1958.

She graduated from Clay township high school in Howard County (Northwestern High School) in 1948. Norma was a bookbinder at Haywood Printing Company and retired in 1992 from Lafayette Printing Company. She was a parishioner of St. Boniface Catholic Church and loved spending time at grandchildren’s sporting and school events. Norma enjoyed playing euchre, car shows, working the crossword puzzles, the crypto quote in the newspaper and was a member of the Studebaker Driver’s Club.

She was married to John Francis Aschenberg for 53 years when he proceeded her in death on September 28, 2011. Surviving is her son Michael Francis Aschenberg, Grandchildren Stephanie Kimble (Chris), Heidi Hunter (Devin), Hannah Aschenberg and Michael L. Aschenberg. Great grandchildren include Oliver D. Hunter, Michael C. Aschenberg, and Brennan Kimble, as well as daughter in law Loria May Aschenberg. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

The Rosary will be recited at 4:30 PM followed by visitation from 5:00 until 7:00 PM Thursday November 9, at the Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home, 1104 Columbia St., Lafayette. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Lafayette at 10:00 AM Friday Nov. 10, Fr. Jeff Martin officiating. Interment will follow in St. Boniface Cemetery.
