Neal Wesley Tam

Neal Wesley Tam, 42, of Lafayette, passed away on February 24, 2026, at IU Health Methodist Hospital. Neal was born on December 15, 1983 in Mobile, AL, son to Charlie & Mary Jane Tam. After he turned 6 his family moved to Lafayette where he has lived ever since.

Neal graduated from Lafayette Jeff High School before pursuing his love for automobiles at Ivy Tech, where he earned a degree in Automotive Technology. His career as an automotive technician at Mike Raisor Pontiac was marked by his unwavering dedication and impressive skill. He was not only known for his technical expertise but also for his friendly demeanor and genuine care for his customers. Neal's smart, comical personality, paired with a great sense of humor, made him a cherished coworker and friend to many.

In addition to his career, Neal was a devoted father to his son, Dominic. His proudest accomplishment was his love for Dominic, with whom he shared countless memorable moments. Neal was also passionate about working on cars and trucks and made a living doing exactly that.

Neal leaves behind his loving parents, Mary Jane and Charlie Tam of Lafayette; his son Dominic Tam of Lafayette. He is also survived by his brother, Damian (Leanne) Tam of Plainfield, along with his niece, Sarah Tam, and nephew, Brian Tam.

Neal joins his cherished grandparents, James and Mary Crystal, who welcomed him into eternity, a comforting thought for those he left behind. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him, and we are better for having known him.

Visitation will be held on February 28, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM at Hahn-Groeber Funeral & Cremation Services in Lafayette, Indiana.
