Mr. Lamoine Pluimer

LaMoine J. Pluimer, 84, of Oxford, IN. died at Green Hill Manor in Fowler 4:30 A.M. Monday February 2, 2009. He had been a patient there for the past one and a half months, and in failing health the past 4 years. Born April 11, 1924 in Jasper County, IN. to the late John Peter and Velma Loretta Nolard Pluimer, he was a graduate of Wadena High School. He had resided in the Oxford area most all of his life, and in the town of Oxford for the past 19 years. He married Ruth H. Zink in Oxford at St. Patrick's Church November 27, 1946, and she survives. Mr. Pluimer was a farmer, retiring in 1990. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Oxford; a member of the Oxford Lions Club, where he had held several offices, and was a recipient of the Melvin P. Jones Award; and was a member of the Dan Patch Pacers. Surviving with his wife are 5 daughters, Julia Solomon of Boca Raton, FL.; Jane McGriff (husband Gary) of Bowling Green, KY.; Dianna Brown (husband John) of Oxford, IN.; Debra Arnoldi (husband David) of Ann Arbor, MI. and Karen Ahlbrnad (husband Eric) of Oxford, IN.; one son, Michael Pluimer (wife Mary Jane) of West Lafayette, IN.; and 2 sisters, Neva McFall of Holly Hills, FL. and Phyllis Brewster of Hoopeston, IL. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Kathryn "Kate" Pluimer and a brother, Lawrence Pluimer. LaMoine was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and fishing. Friends may call at the HAHN-GROEBER FUNERAL HOME, Oxford, from the Scripture service at 4:45 until 8 PM Wednesday. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 AM Thursday, St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Oxford, Fr. Bob Klemme officiating, with interment to follow in Oxford Catholic Cemetery.
