Milton B. Fields, 86, of Lafayette, died at Mulberry Health and Retirement Center 6:45 P.M. Wednesday December 9, 2009 where he had been a patient since June of this year. Born September 18, 1923, in Lafayette, the son of the late Jacob J. and Edna A. Orr Fields, he attended Lafayette Jefferson High School. He married Margaret O. Harrison at Frankfort, Indiana January 16, 1944, and she preceded him in death August 26, 2009. Mr. Fields was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral, and had been employed as a salesman for Smith's Shoes at Market Square and also Englin's Footware at the Tippecanoe Mall, as well as being involved in real estate in the Lafayette area. Surviving is a daughter, Sandra K. Cooper (husband Timothy) of Ft. Wayne, IN.; 2 sons, Douglas C. Fields of Lafayette, IN. and Mark A. Fields of Indianapolis, IN.; and a brother Paul "Spider" Fields (wife Amy) of Lafayette, IN. Also surviving is a granddaughter, Katherine E. Cooper. Preceded in death by 2 sisters and 4 brothers. Friends may call one hour prior to the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Cathedral 11:00 AM Monday, Fr. Dennis Faker officiating. Interment, St. Mary's Cemetery.
