Mildred Ward

Mildred L. "Milly" Ward, 90, of Romney, IN. died at St. Mary's Healthcare 5:25 AM Monday November 16, 2009 where she had been a patient since March 2007. Born in Lafayette October 26, 1919, the daughter of the late William and Lillian Aschenberg Duffy, she was a graduate of St. Francis High School in Lafayette in 1938. She married Russell Ward in Lafayette September 18, 1945, and he preceded her in death August 13, 1982. Mrs. Ward was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral and had been employed at Sears for 25 years in the catalog department as a manager, retiring in 1972.Surviving is a sister, Mary C. Eller of Lafayette, IN.; 2 nephews Robert Eller of Lafayette and James Eller of Minneapolis, MN.; 2 nieces, Kathleen Eller Burke of West Lafayette & Karen Hawn of Lafayette; 1 great-niece Erin Hawn and 2 great-nephews, Brian Hawn & Clayton Eller, all of Lafayette. Preceded in death by a sister, Gertrude Carleton. Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM Wednesday, St. Mary's Cathedral, Fr. Dan Gartland officiating.
