Mildred Swim

Mildred I. Swim, 93, of Lafayette and formerly of Oxford, IN. died at her residence 3:14 PM Saturday December 3, 2011.
Mildred was born at Kingman, IN. March 13, 1918, the daughter of the late Lee and Clara Thompson Dotson, and attended Kingman schools.
She married Russell C. Swim at Bloomingdale, IN. June 19, 1937, and he preceded her in death April 2, 2001.
Mildred had been employed at the former Stam's IGA in Oxford, retiring in the 1980's. She was a member and very active in the Oxford Church of Christ, and had been a member of Benton County Home Ec.
Surviving is a daughter, Virginia A. Nordman (husband Paul) of Lebanon, IN.; 5 grandchildren, Jonna Jusko, Jeff and James Sandefur, Brian and Shannon Nordman; 5 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Vivian K. Maxwell; 2 sisters, Freda "Maxine" Swim & Marjorie Lela Dotson, and a brother Wilbur Dotson.
Friends may call at the Oxford Church of Christ from 10 AM until the service at 11:00 AM Wednesday, Larry McMillan officiating. Graveside services will be held at the Kingman Fraternal Cemetery, Kingman, IN. 3:00 PM Wednesday. If friends desire, memorials may be made to the Oxford Church of Christ.
