Mildred G. "Milly" Bol, 87, of Lafayette, died at St. Mary's Healthcare Center 8:33 AM Saturday June 6, 2009, where she had been a patient since April. Born February 11, 1922 in Tippecanoe County, IN., the daughter of the late Clarence and Gertrude Workman Goris, she was a lifelong Tippecanoe County resident. She married Benjamin G. Bol at San Antonio, Texas October 27, 1942, and he preceded her in death June 6, 1987. Mrs. Bol was a graduate of Wea High School, Lafayette Beauty Academy, and attended IVY Tech. She was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ, and attended many activities and the Adult Fellowship at Central Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Bol served as the pianist and organist at the Indiana Veterans Home for over 25 years. She worked as a bookkeeper for Worrell Propane, Price and Price, the Shook Agency, Bradford Landscaping and Dr. Kelly Carr, as well as Clark Floral and Tippecanoe Collections Service. Surviving is a son, Richard A. Bol (wife Roslynn) of Lafayette. Also surviving are 2 grandsons, Richard "Allen" and Benjamin H. (wife Kelly) Bol, and 2 step-great-grandchildren, Jonathan and Austin Hartz, and a nephew, Dan Pope (wife Kathleen). Preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Pope. Friends may call at the HAHN-GROEBER FUNERAL HOME, 1104 Columbia St. from 5 until 8 PM Wednesday, and at the Indiana Veterans Home Chapel one hour prior to a service at 10:00 AM Thursday. Chaplain David Hess, Rev. Dr. Jeff Cover and Rev. Dr. Ronald Wunsch officiating. Interment West Point Cemetery.
