Michael Siple

Michael J. "Mike" Siple, 66, of Lafayette, died suddenly and unexpectedly of an apparent heart attack at his residence at 9:52 AM Tuesday Sept. 6, 2011. Mr. Siple was born in Lafayette October 11, 1944, the son of the late Russell B. and Elsie Stader Siple, and was a graduate of Dayton, IN. High School. He married Nancy J. Casey in Lafayette October 23, 1971, and she survives. Mr. Staley was employed at A.E. Staley for 36 years, last as an analyst in the lab. He served in the US Army during the Viet Nam war, and was a member of the A. E. Staley Retiree's, enjoyed fishing, cooking and watching television. Surviving with his wife is a daughter, Andrea J. Walsh (husband John) of San Anselmo, CA.; 2 sons, Shawn M. Siple of Lafayette, IN.; Scott M. Siple (wife Beth) of New Ross, IN.; and by 3 brothers, Russell T. Siple (wife Kay) of Lafayette, IN.; Samuel J. "Sam" Siple (wife Virginia) of Lafayette, IN.; and Phillip Siple of Virginia. Also surviving are 3 grandchildren, Sydney and Owen Walsh and Emory Siple. He was preceded in death by 2 infant sons, Eric & Christopher Siple, a brother Daniel Siple and a sister Judy Siple. Friends may call at the HAHN-GROEBER FUNERAL HOME, 1104 Columbia St., Lafayette from 10 AM until the service at 11:00 AM Saturday, Fr. Eric Underwood officiating.
