Meredith Modesta de Jesus, 70, of West Lafayette, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 26th, at her beloved home. She was born in the beautiful island country of Curaçao on February 24, 1955, the daughter of the late Norberto Antonio de Jesus & Olga Laurens de Jesus.
Meredith's career as a kindergarten teacher in Holland was marked by her unwavering commitment to the children she taught. She believed deeply in advocating for their best interests, nurturing their young minds and spirits with dedication and love.
Remembered as incredibly loving, she brought joy and creativity into every aspect of her life. Meredith was an open book, known for her fiery personality and strong opinions. Her engaging stories and conversations captivated all who knew her, making her a beloved friend. A true artist at heart, Meredith enjoyed creative pursuits including crafting and crocheting, which allowed her to express her unique talents and share her artistic flair with others. She had a knack for transforming simple materials into beautiful creations, delighting family and friends with her handmade gifts.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Clyde Becker, and their beloved daughter, Rosy Reiff, along with her treasured grandchildren, Gianna and Emmanuel Reiff. Meredith’s bond with her siblings—brothers Isidoro, Norman, Kenneth, and sisters Lumena, Ida, and Cislyn—was a source of joy and strength throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Sandy, Rudy, and Marlene, who welcomed her into their eternal peace with open arms.
A visitation will be held on September 2, 2025, from 11:00 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at Noon at the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, located at 2224 Sacramento Dr, West Lafayette, IN 47906.
