Mary Serviss

Mary Ellen Serviss, 84, passed away on May 25, 2018 at St. Anthony Healthcare where she had lived for six years. She and her twin sister, Mary Eileen, were born in Lafayette, IN on January 24, 1934 to Frederick and Abigail Serviss. After their mother passed away in 1941, the children were raised by their father and Mrs. Sophia Carson. Mary Ellen was a graduate of St. Boniface Grade School and St. Francis High School class of 1952. She worked at National Home Corporation until they closed in 1980, and later for Flavored Meats and Sam’s Club. She loved to play bingo and cards, visit the Senior Center and go on bus trips to the casinos. Mary Ellen is survived by her twin, Mary Eileen Pietron of Grand Forks, North Dakota and her best friend since second grade, Harriet Kamp. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mrs. Carson, three brothers, Donald, Daniel “Bud”, John; four sisters, Elizabeth “Bette” Kremer, Helen Fischer, Dorothy Goodlet and Margaret “Tootie” Carlile. We would like to thank St. Anthony Healthcare for the wonderful love and care they showed Mary Ellen over the years. Memorial donations may be made in her name to St. Boniface Catholic Church or the charity of your choice. Visitation will take place on Wednesday May 30 from 9:00 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Fr.
