Mary Elizabeth (Zeis) Scott, 93, of Oxford, IN died at Mulberry Health and Retirement Center in Mulberry, IN Sunday April 12, 2015. Mary was born October 8, 1921, the daughter of the late Jack and Loueda Harrell Zeis in the residence she always resided in. She was a graduate of Oxford High School, and on July 12, 1941, she married Lloyd B. Scott at Fowler. He preceded her in death August 11, 1988. Mary was a member of the Oxford Federated Church, the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Fowler, the National Audubon Society, Oak Grove Country Club and was an avid bowler, golfer and gardner. She was very proud of the fact her grandfather, Joseph Harrell was a Civil War Veteran. Mary had been a bookkeeper for Dan McGuire Phillips 66 in Oxford, and also bookkeeper for her husband's business, Scott's Machine Shop in Oxford. After her retirement, she spent the winters in Ormond Beach, FL from 1982 until 2010. Surviving are two nieces, Doran Newhart (Norman) of Lafayette, IN; Leslie Williams (Michael) of Titusville, FL; and six nephews, Donald Brown (Wetanah) of Fowler, IN; Charles Schwamberger (Judy) of Lafayette, IN; Robert Zeis (Mary) of Bluffton, IN; Bill Zeis (Christine) of Whitestown, IN; Mark Zeis (Sherry) of Fowler, IN and Richard Zeis (Nedra) of Mulberry, IN. Friends may call at the Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home, Oxford from 10 AM until the service at 11:00 AM Friday, Pastor Phil Rutledge officiating, with interment to follow at Oxford West Cemetery.
