Mary Margaret Bibler, 87, of Lafayette, died at University Place Healthcare Center, West Lafayette 3:25 A.M. Tuesday December 22, 2009. Mrs. Bibler had resided at University Place the past 4 years. Born June 18, 1922 in Winchester, Indiana, the daughter of the late James and Katherine Wolf Tracy, she was a graduate of Muncie Central High School, and Ball State University with a Bachelors Degree in Art and Music. She married Robert W. Bibler at Muncie, Indiana February 4, 1946, and he preceded her in death December 17, 1993. Mrs. Bibler taught music and art at Sunnyside and Tecumseh schools in Lafayette and also was a private piano teacher. She was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral; the Lafayette Country Club; a charter member of the Friends of Downtown; and a member of the Friends of the Tippecanoe County Library. Mrs. Bibler was the founder of the Meals on Wheels program in Lafayette, and was awarded the Greater Lafayette Health Services Community Impact Award and was also awarded the Distinguished Hoosier Award by Gov. Mitch Daniels and presented by Rep. Sheila Klinker. Surviving are 2 daughters, Tracy Bibler of Lafayette, IN.; Kathryn Myers (husband Don) of Evergreen CO.; and a brother James Tracy (wife Christa) of Hernando, FL. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by a son, Robert Bibler in 1978 and a granddaughter Shellie Solar in 2006. Friends may call at the HAHN-GROEBER FUNERAL HOME, 1104 Columbia St., Lafayette from 3 until 6 P.M. Sunday. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 A.M. Monday, St. Mary's Cathedral, Fr. Ambrose Ziegler, Fr. John Schultz and Chaplain Bob Fish officiating. Interment, Spring Vale Cemetery.
