Mary Anne passed away peacefully on October 8th 2026, at the Bee Hive Memory Care surrounded by her family and the caring staff.
Mary Anne was born on January 2nd, 1943 in Louisville Kentucky. She was the only child of John Thomas and Delia Katherine Green. She grew up in Jeffersonville, Indiana and attended Our Lady of Providence High School in Clarksville, Indiana, and received a Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology from Marquette University.
She married 1st Lieutenant Stephen Roger Seidel from Wayne, New Jersey on September 14th, 1968 in Jeffersonville Indiana. They started their life together in Arlington Heights, Illinois, where their two children Katherine and Robert were born.
Mary Anne, Steve and their family moved to Lafayette, Indiana in 1981. She was a member of Psi Ota Xi Philanthropic Sorority, and also was the Co-Director of Religious Education at St Thomas Aquinas.
She became a member of St Mary's Cathedral in 1990 where she was an active member of the Altar Rosary Guild.
Mary Anne was a 45 year John Purdue Club Member, and supported all Purdue Sports, but especially Football and Men's Basketball. She enjoyed hosting friends and family members for tailgates and viewing parties which were highlighted by her great cooking and outgoing
personality.
Mary Anne was preceded in death by her parents John and Delia, and survived by her husband Stephen, daughter Katherine, son Robert “Bob” (Caroline Meersseman).
A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 15, from 10:00 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Lafayette, IN. A private burial will occur at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Mary Anne’s memory to Lafayette Catholic Schools.
