Mark Thompson

Mark Timothy Thompson, 60, of Lafayette, IN. died suddenly and unexpectedly 3:32 PM Monday December 3, 2012 of an apparent heart attack. Mark was born in Barberton, Ohio February 11, 1952, the son of the late Dale and Betty Oliver Thompson. He was a graduate of Manchester, Ohio, High School and also a graduate of the University of Akron.
He married Arlene Rose Savitts and she preceded him in death July 16, 2007. Mark was a machinist for Carter Machine through the United Auto Workers, and most recently was a health care aide with Comfort Keepers. He was a member of United Auto Workers Local 1094 in Ohio, and was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing and camping.
Surviving is a sister, Marilyn Malmgren (husband Rev. Carl) of Lafayette, IN.; a brother, Daniel Thompson (wife Susan) of Avon, IN.; and by 3 nieces and a nephew. Also surviving is a special friend, Harriett Bell.
A memorial service will be held at the Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home, 1104 Columbia St., Lafayette at 5:30 PM Friday, Rev. Carl Malmgren officiating. If friends desire. memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation. Memories and condolences may be left at www.hahngroeberfuneralhome.com.
