Marilyn Ann Wagner, 77, of Lafayette, died at her residence 10:28 AM Friday August 24, 2012. Marilyn was born in Lafayette January 3, 1935, the daughter of the late Charles Monroe and Anna Dorothy Burkhouse Daily, and was a 1953 graduate of Lafayette Jefferson High School.
She served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict from 1953 until 1957. Marilyn was employed as a computer operator at Eli Lilly & Co. for 22 years, retiring in 1995.
She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, the American Legion Post 11 and VFW Post 1154 all in Lafayette.
Surviving are 2 daughters, Mitzie Ann Mangus (husband Doug) of Delphi, IN.; Angela Faith Wagner Bates of Lafayette, IN.; 2 sons, Edward Allen Wagner (wife Lucy) of Lafayette, IN. and William Aaron Wagner (wife Susan) of Bowling Green, IN.; and 2 sisters, Martha Naugle (husband Roy) of Dallas, TX.; and Rachael Richardson (husband Bill) of Lafayette, IN. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 2 grandsons, a brother and a sister.
Friends may call at the HAHN-GROEBER FUNERAL HOME, 1104 Columbia St., Lafayette from 5 until 7 PM Monday. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the funeral service at St. James Lutheran Church 10:30 AM Tuesday, Pastor David French officiating. Interment with military graveside rites at Battle Ground Cemetery. If friends desire, memorials may be made to St. Elizabeth Hospice or Lafayette YWCA Women's Programs.
