Marilyn Senn

Marilyn C. Senn, 86, of Lafayette, died at the residence of her son, Mark D. Senn of Lafayette early Wednesday morning December 11, 2013. Marilyn was born in Lakota, North Dakota August 4, 1927, the daughter of the late William and Pearl Paul Campbell. She was a graduate of Austin High School in Chicago, IL. and business college also in Chicago. Marilyn married Jesse L. Senn, Jr. at Teheran, Iran May 14, 1953, and he preceded her in death March 4, 2006. Prior to her marriage, she worked for the U. S. State Department in India and Iran, where she met her husband. After their marriage, they traveled extensively in Europe before returning the the United States. A secretary and office manager, Marilyn had been employed at the Purdue Exponent for a number of years, and had last worked for Treece Investments sixteen years. She was a member of the National Secretaries Association; Business and Professional Women; Friends of the Tippecanoe County Library; and had served on the board of the Boys Club . She enjoyed traveling; live performances, especially musicals; board games, her friends and in her youth, ballroom dancing. Surviving is a daughter, Lanni Carol Senn of Lafayette, IN.; a son, Mark D. Senn (wife Karen) of Lafayette, IN.; and a brother, Arthur Campbell of Villa Park, IL. Also surviving are two granddaughters, Naomi Godfrey of Lafayette, IN. and Elaine C. Senn of Bloomington, IN. She was preceded in death by a sister, Norma Campbell. Friends may cal at the HAHN-GROEBER FUNERAL HOME, 1104 Columbia St., Lafayette from noon until the service at 1:00 PM Saturday, Rev. Dr. R. Clayton Kendall officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Greater Lafayette Civic Theatre, Tippecanoe County Public Library or WBAA.
