Marie Wiese

Marie V. Wiese, 91, formerly of Lafayette, died at IU Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, IN at 8:25 PM Tuesday February 7, 2017. She had most recently been residing at Miller’s Merry Manor in Chesterfield, IN. Marie was born in Earl Park, IN November 25, 1925, the daughter of the late George and Dorothy Benner Salla and was a graduate of Earl Park High School. She married Francis Wiese at Earl Park, IN September 10, 1946, and he preceded her in death June 6, 2000. Marie was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Lafayette, and attended events with her husband at the Knights of Columbus and the Moose Lodge. Marie had been employed at Purdue University with the custodial staff for 25 years before retiring in 1992. Surviving are three sons, Steven Wiese (wife Jan) of Big Water, UT; Michael Wiese (wife Brenda) of Kewanna, IN and Thomas Wiese (wife Connie) of Lafayette, IN. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jane Huffer; a daughter-in-law, Bev Wiese and by four sisters and five brothers. Friends may call at the Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home, 1104 Columbia St., Lafayette from 9:30 AM until the funeral service at 10:30 AM Friday Feb. 10, Fr. Eric Underwood officiating. The interment will follow at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens. If friends desire, memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice or for Masses at St. Lawrence Church.
