Margaret T. Ruppert, 85, of Lafayette, died at Rosewalk Village in Lafayette 5:10 AM Thursday February 24, 2011 where she had been a patient since August. Margaret was born in Lafayette June 5, 1925, the daughter of the late John A. and Catherine Cavanaugh Ruppert, and was a graduate of St. Francis High School. She worked as an office manager for Dr. McKinney, and later for Drs. Pickerill, Wieda and Sondgerath, retiring in 1987. Margaret then was employed for the Lafayette K-Mart store for 18 years. She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, St. Elizabeth Medical Center Auxiliary, served as a volunteer for the Lafayette Citizens Band, and enjoyed all Purdue University sports, the Indianapolis 500 and golf. Surviving is a son, Stephen E. Ruppert (wife Pamela Weaver) of Lafayette; a brother, John Ruppert of Lafayette, IN.; 4 sisters, Catherine Duffy (husband James) of Burlington, WI; Mary Loughead of Fresno, CA.; Patricia "Patty" Danaher (husband Donald) of Lafayette, IN. and Ann Feaster (husband Donald) of Lafayette, IN. Also surviving is a step-granddaughter, Karen Halter; and 3 step-great-grandchildren , Tyler, Addyson and McKinsie Halter. She was preceded in death by a brother, George P. Ruppert and a sister, Joann Brettnacher. Friends may call at the HAHN-GROEBER FUNERAL HOME, 1104 Columbia St., Lafayette from the Rosary at 4:45 PM until 8 PM Monday. Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 AM Tuesday, St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Fr. Andy De Keyser officiating. Interment, St. Mary's Cemetery.
