Margaret Cecilia Rardon, 99, of Lafayette, passed away on April 4, 2026, at Westminster Village. Born on February 22, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Frank D. Haley and Mary M. Haley.
Margaret graduated from St. Francis high school in 1945 and, prior to her marriage, worked at O’Rear’s Bakery in Lafayette. On July 4, 1949, she married James Dean Rardon, and together they shared many years of marriage and raised a loving family. He preceded her in death September 30th, 2003.
She was a devoted member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Margaret will be remembered by family and friends as a loving, caring, and thoughtful woman who cherished time spent with those she loved most.
She is survived by her children: Julie McKenzie (Nate), Lora Eberle (Steve), Erin Creger (Brian), Stacey King (Stephen), James Dean Rardon Jr. (Jean), and Terry P. Rardon (Mary). She is also survived by her sister Barbara Harless and her brother Patrick Haley; along with 15 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Dean Rardon; her parents; her siblings, Francis Haley, Gert Schmidt, Mary Delaney, Jack Haley, and Judy Bruno.
A visitation will be held from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, with a Mass to follow at 12:30 PM. Interment will take place at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the Rardon family.
