Margaret Bernal

Margaret L. Bernal, age 94, of Oxford, IN passed away at Green-Hill Manor in Fowler at 9:15 PM Wednesday November 15, 2017 where she had been a patient for 2 days. Margaret was born in Boswell, IN February 19, 1923, the daughter of the late Major O. and Elizabeth Hanner Winsett and attended Oxford High School. She married George R. Bernal in Oxford April 19, 1941 and he preceded her in death August 21, 1997. A homemaker, Margaret enjoyed sewing, gardening, reading, crocheting and was famous for her homemade pie. She was a member of Oxford Federated Church and loved her church. Margaret enjoyed volunteering her time once a week entertaining at the former Edgewood Nursing Home in Oxford for 30 years. Surviving are three nieces, Joan Peercy, Caroline Wolfe and Shirley Saltsman; three nephews, Fred, Charles and Russell Shelton and by several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by six sisters and six nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home, Oxford from 10:00 AM until the service at 11:00 AM Tuesday Nov. 21, Pastor Philip Rutledge officiating.
