Louise Spencer

Louise Spencer, age 96, of Lafayette, Indiana died peacefully on July 15, 2016. She was born August 24, 1919, to the late Earnest and Ida Mattox of Remington, Indiana. Louise graduated from Remington High School in 1939 and married Richard Spencer in Lafayette on March 9, 1943. He passed away on September 18, 1982. Louise was employed at Goodnight’s Drug Store and Bill Long’s Drug Store. She was a member of St. Mary’s Cathedral. Surviving are a son, Richard Spencer (Pam), and a granddaughter, Tracy Spencer Letko (Ben). She was preceded in death by four brothers, Francis, Russell, Paul “Pete”, and P.J. Mattox, and four sisters, Helen Stonehill, Aldine Antcliff, Bertha Heater, and Lucy Graham Lucas. Friends may call from 9:30 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM Friday in St Mary Cathedral in Lafayette, Fr. Robert Klemme officiating. The interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
