Lee Albert Cole Jr., 74, died Sunday July 23, 2017 at IU Arnett Hospital in Lafayette, IN. He leaves his son Joshua N. Cole (wife Diane Lin) and daughter Julie C. Watson (husband Ford) sister Sara Roth and three grandchildren, Blake Watson, Lucinda and Ansel Cole. Born in Chicago, IL and raised in Rensselaer, IN the son of Lee Albert and Grace Cole. He was a lifelong resident of Lafayette, IN. After graduating from Rensselaer Central High School he attended University of Illinois where he met Sally Jane Trott his wife of 46 years. Upon graduation from University Illinois he served with the U.S. Army in The Vietnam War. After his honorable discharge, Mr. Cole worked at Scholer Architects and Engineers for over 25 years. Lee was an ardent sailor throughout his adult life and active member of the Lafayette Sailing Club for many years where he won numerous regattas and season long race series. Friends may call at Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home, 1104 Columbia St., Lafayette from 9:30 until 10:30 AM Wednesday July 26. A graveside service will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Lafayette at 11:00 AM Wednesday July 26, Fr. Jeff Martin officiating.
