Larry White

Larry E. White, 78, of Lafayette, died at Seton Speciality Hospital at St. Elizabeth Central 9:22 A.M. Tuesday January 19, 2010. He had been in failing health the past year. Born in Yates Center, Kansas August 2, 1931, the son of the late Harry and Helen Liptrap White, he was a graduate of Freeland Park High School, Freeland Park, IN. Mr. White was first married to Dorothy Seyfried February 24, 1954 at Swanington, IN and she died in 1993. He then married Patricia FitzSimons in Lafayette, IN. July 24, 1999, and she survives. Mr. White was employed 36 years as a pipefitter for ALCOA retiring June 1, 1986. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, and was a member of the American Legion, Post 492. Surviving beside his wife are 5 sons, Keith White of Tennessee; Kevin White (wife Bobbi) of Lafayette, IN.; Paul FitzSimons (wife Debbie) of Glouster, VA.; Mark FitzSimons (wife Tami) of Indianapolis, IN.; Raymond FitzSimons (wife Regina) of Brookston, IN.; 3 daughters, Jody White of West Lafayette, IN.; Rose Marie Killian of Lafayette, IN.; Cynthia Habbinga (husband Max) of Palm Coast, FL.; a step-daughter, Lisa Billingsley of Century, FL.; a step-son, Dustin Billingsley of Lafayette, IN.; 2 sisters, Barbara Sloan of Marlo, OK.; Janice Ade (husband Paul) of West Lafayette, IN.; 2 brothers Franklin White (wife Mary) of Lafayette, IN.; and Wayne White (wife Sharon) of Brookston, IN. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Friends may call at the HAHN-GROEBER FUNERAL HOME, 1104 Columbia St. Lafayette from 4 P.M. until the service at 7:00 P.M. Friday, Rev. Dr. R. Clayton Kendall officiating. Private family interment at a later date in St. Mary's Cemetery.
