Larry Kilgore

Reverend Larry Lee Kilgore passed away unexpectedly at his residence in Linden In. Friday May 12th. Larry was born in Beech Grove Indiana on March 15th 1949. He graduated in 1967 from Linden High School. After High School he served a four year term in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Truckee AO-147. Following his proud service to our country his career began at Purdue University. Forty years later he retired from Purdue as a night shift building maintenance Supervisor. While working at Purdue he often took classes, occasionally full time. In 1997 he obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Organizational Leadership. Larry became an Ordained Minister in June of 2015. He was also a Master Mason out of Lodge #123 in Lafayette Indiana. Larry was preceded in death by his mother Mable L. Kilgore and father Robert W. Kilgore. Surviving are three brothers, Robert S. Kilgore, James S. Kilgore, and David B. Kilgore. Two nieces, a nephew and his ex-wife also survive. Larry loved all animals especially his pet Dachsunds through the years. He enjoyed flea markets, auctions, the Feast of The Hunter's Moon and visiting with family and friends. He never really knew a stranger. Everyone was a potential friend. He will be dearly missed by all. Friends may call at the Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home, Linden from 12:00 PM until Masonic Rites at 1:45 PM followed by the funeral service at 2:00 PM Saturday May 27, Rev. David Hunter and Rev. Mike Townsend officiating. The interment will follow at Linden Cemetery with American Legion Post 72 Military Rites.
